Installing VPython on the Macintosh

The current state of VPython on various operating systems, according to our tests, is:

System  
OS 9.1 Old, limited version. It is necessary to run ConfigurePythonClassic before running VPython.
OS 9.2 We have not tried this.
OS 10.X

This is the version currently supported.

Carbon version not yet available (there is a carbon version of Python, but not yet a carbon version of Visual).

Classic version does not run correctly. VPython comes up but graphics do not work correctly.

Installation of VPython on the Mac involves a number of steps. Read the Installation Instructions below (you may wish to print a copy for reference during the installation).

Note: This Macintosh release currently lacks an integrated edit/run development environment (IDLE on Windows).
